Texas AFT Disaster Relief Fund

Through our Disaster Relief Fund, Texas AFT has a long history of helping our members in need during catastrophic events.

Whether our members have been affected by tornadoes, tropical storms, or hurricanes, Texas AFT is ready to help — through disaster relief checks, safe places to stay, and hands-on cleanup help. Thanks to the generosity of AFT members, we have established our Texas AFT Disaster Relief Fund.

Our fund provides donors a tax-deductible opportunity to help others. 100% of proceeds are distributed to members.

What the Disaster Relief Fund Is Used For

These are just some recent situations in which your donations have been used to help members and their families:

  • F3 Tornado damage to 20 campuses in Dallas ISD
  • Hurricane Hanna flooding in the Rio Grande Valley
  • Hurricane Harvey flooding in Houston and Gulf Coast
  • Bastrop forest fires

No Texas AFT dues dollars are used for disaster relief assistance grants. All funds distributed to those in need are thanks to the generous donations from those willing and able to help.
